TULPANENS DAG!
Today is Tulip Day in Sweden
It has been celebrated for the last 21 years
The reason for Tulip day is to celebrate the coming of spring...
I think that is a really good reason.
Spring is a looong time coming here...
-27 degrees
I googled this info.
Swedes buy approximately 1 million Tulips a day
between January - Easter.
That's a lot of Tulips!

Julie - everytime I see pics of your house, I want to grab the first bottle of bleach and get busy with it in mine to make it clean and fresh like yours! It`s soooo calming. Tulips are lovely - have you read `Tulip Fever` by Deborah Moggach? It`s a really good read - about tulips in Amsterdam!Have a great weekend - stay warm. x

Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it's so cold in Sweden. You must all be freezing overthere!! It's +9 in Holland (but horribly grey and wet).
What a fun day to have 'tulip day'! I just threw mine away. They have been standing for a week. I like them best multicoloured, like yours. They make such a colourful bouquet!
Happy weekend & lieve groet,
Madelief xxx
tulpis are my absolute favourite!
ReplyDeleteI love tulips. They're such a cheerful touch of spring in the winter! I've been eying up the pink ones at the grocery store this week... might just have to indulge in a bunch (or two!) next time I go.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm, Julie!

Hi Julie! Happy New Year, and Happy Tulip Day!! I hope your Christmas was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore tulips. They are my all time favourite flower. I find them to be very elegant and gracious looking. I prefer them with their buds closed or just slightly open like the ones in your gorgeous pictures!!
The colours they come in are so beautiful too. I usually opt for some pink and yellow ones!

A belated Happy Tulip Day! I will tell my sister as it's her birthday on 15th Jan and she hates having a January birthday, it might make her feel better about it and everyone can buy her tulips from now on! Yesterday I bought pink and red ones, they and roses are my favourite flower. Love Penny x
